What is a Vault?

A vault is a secure container that organizes your workspace. Think of it as your personal workspace folder where all your notes, apps, widgets, and settings are stored together. Each vault is completely separate from others, allowing you to organize different projects or keep personal and work content separate.

When you create a vault, you choose where it's stored - either locally on your device or synced to the cloud. Each vault can contain multiple apps and widgets, each with their own data and settings, all organized in one place.

Creating Vaults

When you first launch Neith, you'll need to create or locate a vault. Vaults are secure containers that organize your workspace - each vault can contain multiple apps and widgets with its own settings and data.

Create New Vault

To create a new vault, you'll need to:

  1. 1Choose a name for your vault
  2. 2Select a storage type: Local (on your device - private and offline) or Sync vault (cloud storage)
  3. 3For local vaults, choose a folder on your device. For sync vaults, you'll need to sign in.

Locate Existing Vault

If you already have a vault folder on your device, you can locate it instead of creating a new one. Browse to the vault folder and Neith will validate and open it.

Backing Up Local Vaults

Important: Back Up Your Local Vault

If you choose to use a local vault, make sure to back it up regularly. Local vaults are stored only on your device, so if your device fails or the vault folder is lost, your data cannot be recovered. Regularly copy your vault folder to an external drive or cloud storage service to keep your data safe.
